A few months ago, we posted about how much we love our Nube from Sierra Madre Research and how it is our preferred camping shelter for our trips. However, we also mentioned that Sierra Madre Research was coming out with a new model that they called the Stratos. We preordered and it finally came! Watch our unboxing and our initial impressions below!

The Baby Registry Adventure

We just passed the four month mark of pregnancy and it's time to start getting serious at the baby registry list. However, after seeing the amount of stuff just for babies in this store, we had a hard time taking some things seriously... :)

Over the weekend, Nike with three elite runners attempted to run the marathon in under two hours. Something people say is impossible.

Never mind that I usually haven't event broken 13.1 by the two hour mark. These people are FAST.

Even if you are not a runner, here's some pretty amazing takeaways that we can apply to our lives as we try to do the impossible.

Disney Dark Side: Day 3

Sunday was Half Marathon day! We woke up bright and early but thankful for the approved walk path to the start line from the Polynesian. Instead of having to wake up at 3:00 AM, we got to "sleep in" until 4:15 and we were on our way by 4:45. Felt like a Disneyland race...

Camping Gear Review: The Nube

Today we are talking about my favorite gear for camping, The Nube by Sierra Madre Research!

This is basically a suspended tent for your hammocks. Jared and I love our tent, but never slept very well on our camping trips due to sleeping on the ground. Plus, our tent would flood during those lovely Texas spring rainstorms.

Enter the Christmas I bought Jared a hammock. He is so excited about it, he tells me about this fantastic company called Sierra Madre Research. And, they have an ingenious system that allows us to sleep well and stay dry.

Happy Independence Day Texas!

This week on March 2nd, Texas will be celebrating it's Independence Day from Mexico. March 2nd is the day we drafted our Declaration of Independence from Mexico in the little shack in Washington-on-the-Brazos. Soon after, the Alamo would fall and soon after that, Texas would defeat Mexico.
