Well, in typical new parent style, our entire social media is filled with stuff about our new baby girl. Here's a (non graphic) look at the day our little one was born one week ago.
The internet is saturated with iPhone X reviews with fancy montages and shots that look like Apple might have paid for them to make the reviews (not saying thats the case but sometimes one begins to wonder). Then there are other reviews that would rather just bash Apple about everything. Me? I just want to tell you about my experience and include a new thing I tried where I preordered through the Verizon app and activated my phone from at home, including a trade in.
While there are going to be plenty of things that are scary this evening, this picture pretty much sums up my fears for right now. Why? Check out the blog to find out.
It's officially done. The nursery is complete! After working on in since August, we are excited to finally show y'all the details of the nursery, including how we came up with the design.
Jared and I had a summer bucket list...which we actually got mostly through! So when we sat down to talk about our fall bucket list, we actually decided to try a fall themed date that would be fun but easy. Aka...the challenge for every date!
So I took on the challenge of doing a Harry Potter themed date!
Last week at my OBGYN appointment, doctor said “I’d be fine if she came as early as October 15th…37 weeks is technically full term.”
Begin my freak out.
So, considering our baby could come as early as two weeks from now to as late as a month from now, this ticking time bomb has some thoughts on the whole pregnancy thing.
Ok ok. I realize that we only had two baby showers. But labeling this one "The Second Baby Shower" seemed so less dramatic. To read all of my thoughts on our baby shower experience, check out our blog!
Over last weekend Jared and I were blessed by so many amazing people who poured out the gifts for our little baby Rea! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who came and sent gifts! We feel so loved!
Jared has once again shown his brilliance. He created an Instructable discussing how he created the chandelier for our office! It's so awesome, he was actually chosen as a featured post on Instructables.com!
You can help him win by going to his post and voting for him in the First Time Author's competition. Visit the blog to find out more!
Last weekend Maddie headed up to Bentonville with her family to attend her cousin Kelsi's wedding! It was a fun weekend full of family and touring. We are so excited for you Kelsi and Calvin! Here's to a wonderful weekend!
Our final day in Wimberly was all about the local shopping! There are so many cute little stores downtown. We met so many interesting people including the wonderful people at the gourmet popcorn shop and the guy that hosts the local art gallery across the way from the cafe! The bakery has many gluten free options (including cinnamon rolls! Oh how I've missed you!) and we indulged before heading back to Fort Worth.
Day two of our baby moon to Wimberly was all about swimming! We headed over to Jacob's Well (something that was on our bucket list to see) and then tubed down the river in San Marcos for the afternoon. Even Duchess got in on the action!
We are now in our third trimester, which means the cut off date for Maddie to travel is coming up. So, we packed up the Jeep and made a small getaway for our baby moon and headed to Wimberly, TX.
Working out while carrying baby has definitely been a challenge! But I have negotiated through it with some reasonable success and I hope me sharing what I have done can help any other ladies out there!
Maddie has been really thinking through her outfit options while shopping in the maternity section, and has gotten many compliments on her outfits over the summer. So, here's how she put together some of her favorite outfits!
Over the past four years in the airlines, Jared has developed a certain, "taste" for which hotels are the best to stay at in his opinion. Listen in to the whys he prefers some hotel chains above others.
Many of you know that I work with a fantastic organization called Redeemed Ministries. They are a non-profit that works with human trafficking victims and runs a long term residential program that allows survivors to have a safe place to heal. I've posted many times before about them. For example here, here and here.
August 4th, Jared and I uploaded our very first blog post. Who knew if we would have many readers or viewers. But it was a creative outlet for Maddie to hone her video skills and a fun way to share our escapades with friends and family.
365 days later, it's pretty remarkable how much has changed. And 365 days from now, it will be even more different. Not
Thank you for coming on this journey with us. Here's to many more adventures to come!
I have had many emotions and feelings throughout this pregnancy thing. But I thought today, being "halfway" through this process, I would share some thoughts and candid confessions about this whole pregnancy thing so far.
