Disneyland Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of our Disneyland week!

Today was epic. We started the morning out with our Star Wars: Light Side race! While this was personally, a worst race time wise (feet were killing me!) Mom and Dad got personal bests! The course was pretty awesome with some fantastic cosplay cheerers along the route.

New Year, New Mantle, Same Love

I absolutely love decorating our mantle each season and this month I decided to display things from our wedding. Our wedding invitation. Our menu. Our program. One of the napkins we had printed. Paper airplanes that sent us out on our honeymoon. We still look back on this day and the emotions are unexplainable.

Thank you to everyone who made our wedding day so memorable and full of joy.

Oh, and Mac and Cheese bar.

Candle Making 101

So we are diving into some different DIY areas. We like to constantly keep learning things. We made our own soy candles for Christmas and decided to try our hand at a beeswax pillar candle. Here's how things went...

Warning, might contain blowtorch action and lots of sarcasm.

Happy New Year

As with most people on the internet, we are taking the time to talk about our hopes and dreams for 2017.

Most of it seems to include laughter. Usually with Jared making side comments. If this is the case, I am totally happy with 2017!

A Weekend in San Antonio: Day 3

Sunday we ate at the historical Gunther House. It was the first flour mill in the area and a the catalyst for the city growing. The original house is now a restaurant and serves DELICIOUS food!

A Weekend in San Antonio: Day 2

Saturday we started off visiting the Alamo. It's one of my favorite places and this trip seemed a little extra special. Jared and I got to visit the small building at Washington one the Brazos where they declared Texas independence from Mexico last March. It's a small, nondescript building but it's what was happening while the men in the Alamo fought to the death. I got a little emotional knowing this and saw the Alamo in a slightly different light. It's a little piece of home that I will always treasure.

A Weekend in Aggieland

Thanks to our wonderful cousins, we were blessed with the opportunity to attend a Texas A&M football game! We had not been back to Kyle Field since the renovation and BOY was it crazy! A low turnout attendance was higher then the most crowded game Jared and I attended while at school by a healthy 10,000 people margin.

Trip Up North

Every year, since Jared was 13, he would travel up to Indiana with his grandfather and dad to go hunting. It's been a family tradition every since.

Jared's grandfather died in 2007, but it hasn't stopped them from going up and continuing to hunt on the land. Maddie finally got to make it up there for the first time and got to see first hand where this special place was.

A Day in the Life

I don't think it's a surprise that with Jared's irregular work schedule, life doesn't revolve around your typical 5/2 day work/play schedule. But there are some days where life kinda seems "normal." This day was one of those days. And yes, it did center around tacos.

How to do Gluten Free
